Axiom's AXLE3WG series of LED modules is the highest brightness, lowest energy per delivered lumen, and lowest cost of any product on the market. This new technology uses the latest long lifetime Nichia White LED product that is rated for high temperature operation (long life at 50oC /122oF) and lifetime of 50,000 hours. Made in New Zealand.

AXLE3WG Series are UL Recognized LED modules are UL Recognized for wet location use and come standard with VHB tape and mounting hole for additional rivet, screw, or silicone dab attachment.

AXLE3 Series Modules are UL Recognized for use in Signs. The AXLE3 Series is listed in the Sign Components Manual  for use in Wet Locations with a UL Recognized Class 2 power supply (Axiom Class 2 Power Supplies). Products are not required to be covered from the elements and can be used exposed rain.

Mechanical Dimensions
The AXLE3 Series is designed to fit channel letters that are 15" or taller with depths from 4"-9".  For shallower letters Axiom recommends running this product at 12VDC to turn down the brightness. Our UL Recognized power supply voltage can be adjusted all the way down to 10.5VDC or the desired brightness level.

The chart provided below demonstrates how many AXLE3 Series LED modules can be run on our UL Recognized Class 2 power supplies. The AXLE3 Series is a 15VDC (14.5VDC) system so it is recommended to use Axiom's power supplies that are preset to 14.5VDC for maximum brightness. AXIOM power supplies are adjustable so even if you purchase the 12VDC versions you can adjust them to 14.5VDC.

Note: Please consult with Axiom power supply maximum operating temperature ratings and consider the ambient temperature where you are installing the sign.  In elevated temperature you may want to use 10-15% less LED modules per power supply for proper operation.

Lifetime Curve

The AXLE3 Series has a rated lifetime of 50,000 hours.  This means that the LED modules will lose approximately 20% of their initial brightness after 50,000 hours of operation.  The data provided below is at an ambient temperature test condition of 50oC or 122oF.

Expected Lifetime of AXLE3 Lit Sign

There are 8,760 hours in a year.  Signs typically operate in one of four (4) categories:

  1. Night Time until Close: signs that run from dusk to closing (average of 6 hours)

  2. All Night Long: signs that run all night long (avg 12hrs)

  3. Interior: signs that are on during business hours - inside a mall for example (avg 10 hrs)

  4. 24 Hour: signs that run 24 hours (inside a casino, hotel or airport)
